Open Source Remote Support Tool
If you are not already subscribed to our Endpoint Patching and Remote Support (Home) package, we use and recommend Rust Desk.
From the Rust Desk website…
“A remote desktop software, the open source TeamViewer alternative, works out of the box, no configuration required. You have full control of your data, with no concerns about security. You can use our public rendezvous/relay server, or self-hosting, or write your own server.”
With the tool either installed or running as a Portable App, the support person wishing to connect to your computer only need ask for your ID (masked in read) and your Password. With this information, your screen becomes visible to the support person.
Use caution when giving out ID and Password only to people you trust and have verified they say who they are.
